Advocacy on GBV (Gender Based Violence Awareness)
HRC (Human Right Coaching) – (HRC) awareness is created for our young women and girls to be sensitized on the cancer and prevalent nature of violence against girls and women plus it’s adverse effect on the society at large. Here,partnering with stakeholders is essential to raise awareness,sensitization,getting information on myths and facts about GBV and providing information on resources available to these women plus referral services.
Practical Support Services – Practical support services are also provided knowing fully well that not providing support for victims whose rights have been infringed upon while carrying out advocacy can be frustrating. It is a known fact that most victims of violence don’t usually report these issues due to fear of being apportioned blame or shamed. Some of these victims don’t understand that justice can be sought hence feeling timid or intimidated even by the justice system hence needing help. In this case,they can be referred to counselors,doctors,police or lawyers as the case may be.
